Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Architecture
Grubel Fuss "Architecture": city on the wrist The tourbillon 24-second mechanism is unlike any timepiece created by Greubel Forsey. Its case is completely atypical, its structure is purposeful, its components are sculptural, their mechanical interaction dynamics and movement - simply spectacular! This new Greubel Forsey movement features a new convex conical truncated case shape that represents a radical departure from traditional movement construction and aesthetics, and brings an architectural experience to the wrist.
History is made up of continual progress, sometimes with glaring breaks. Fine watchmaking is no exception, with 250 years of patient accumulation of achievements, every now and then a breakthrough, upheaval or revolution.
Greubel Forsey presents some of them with 30° double tourbillon, quadruple tourbillon, double balancer and QP à Équation's mechanical computer, among others. From an aesthetic point of view, its asymmetrical convex case shape, or sloping escapement, opens up new avenues for watchmaking design. But Greubel Forsey has never integrated the technology and aesthetics of one of its timepieces into the tourbillon 24-second mechanism.
unobstructed view The new 24-second tourbillon high quality replica watches architecture is not easy to understand. Its components are suspended in space, revealing a harmonious combination of surfaces, shapes and movements. The case first reveals the wonders of the interior through a large opening on the side of the dial, containing the embossed Greubel Forsey values that inspired this creation: Architecture, Harmony, Innovation, Technology, Duplex, Passion, Science, Exclusivity, Creativity.
While the case looks round when viewed from the dial side, from other angles, its convex shape, as well as the large synthetic sapphire crystal ring that wraps around the entire perimeter of the strap. Greubel Forsey has been integrating transverse sapphire crystal windows since 2007, but has never before presented a movement that can be seen from all angles above, below and around the case.
This new case structure allows unobstructed views of even the smallest details of the movement, while allowing light to penetrate almost unhindered. It is light, through shadows and reflections, that shapes matter and reveals the intimacy of the building. It immerses the movement in water to fully reveal its complexity, so it is itself an important contribution to the aesthetics of this unique timepiece.
Brand new case construction In addition to its aesthetic contribution in showcasing the movement, the case also offers a very unique experience on the wrist. Its convex profile ensures optimum ergonomics and wrist comfort. Pushing the envelope even further, Greubel Forsey has now conceived a case that is not only convex but also geometrically similar to a conical frustum. In the Tourbillon 24-Second Architecture, the diameter around the case back (47.05 mm) is wider than around the bezel (45 mm), thus combining the best of both worlds: it contains enough volume to fully showcase the movement inside architecture, while at the same time giving the impression of being much smaller than it actually is.Jacob & Co. Finally, the 50-meter water-resistant titanium case features three-dimensional variable-geometry lugs, hand-polished with a hand-finished straight grain, seamlessly integrated into a rubber strap with embossed text and a titanium folding clasp. Distinctive movement While the case itself is a major technical feat, the Greubel Forsey movement remains the star of the show. The polished titanium bridges immediately stand out from the frosted finish of the main plate and are breathtaking: seemingly out of nowhere, they snake their way through the movement and end up flush with the sapphire crystal.
At 6 o’clock, the 24-second tourbillon rests on a large spherical skeleton bridge, the base of which is still hidden by design. The inclined escapement defies gravity in form, and compensates for it in function. To address the critical position of the oscillator relative to gravity, the 24-second tourbillon employs rapid rotation in addition to its 25° inclination. The combination of these two elements contributes to excellent timekeeping performance, especially in stable positions.replica Carl F. Bucherer watches
The barrel bridge at 10 o’clock is similarly engraved, with a polished spherical surface, as well as polished bevels and countersunk holes. barrel
The cap is engraved, lacquered and circular grained and contains three fast-rotating barrels connected in series coaxially, one of which is equipped with a sliding spring to avoid excessive tension. The movement’s power source provides a 90-hour chronograph power reserve, indicated by a moving red triangle above the conical disc at 3 o’clock. It is also held in place by beautiful polished titanium bridges.
In the centre we find two large curved, skeletonised and polished steel hands indicating the hours and minutes, mounted on the iconic Greubel Forsey tripod bridge. The time indication at 8 o'clock is completed by a small seconds hand on a cylinder with polished sides - mirroring and echoing all other components nearby.
A unique fusion of technology and aesthetics The 354 parts of the movement are sculpted and arranged in an asymmetrical and harmonious manner, as if they had come from an organic growth process in nature. Each component is suspended in an unexpected three-dimensional plane, but it is precisely its aesthetic and technical position in relation to the others. The movement is dynamic and urban, but also has room to breathe. The 24-second tourbillon architecture is a marvel of contemporary design and a physical embodiment of the inventive art of Greubel Forsey.
